Voiceovers

For our trailer, we decided to use a voiceover to make the narrative clearer and explain the montage. We did not use Thea and George who were our actors, because their voices in the filming and on the microtrack sounded tinny and unprofessional.

We decided to use our friends Charles and Alice to play Isaac and Grace's voices, because their voices sound well pronounced and English. We recorded their voices on the Mac computer using Garage Band. We wrote a script for them and instructed them on how to say each line. We then recorded them three times until they got it right.

After recording the voiceover, we overlaid it on top of the song for our trailer which was sung by Charles. This worked well, because it reflected the technique used in other romance trailers such as 'Blue Valentine' where one of the main characters is singing the soundtrack over it.

Magazine Cover Construction

Following the proof sheets we decided to create more with colourful pictures to create a collage effect. We thought this would provide a more interesting dynamic rather than just one photo on the cover of the magazine and also would create a more 'behind the scenes' feel.

We then created a template to place on top of the collage which would make it look like a cover.
