Film Construction - Day 7

Today was our final day of filming and we managed to film all of the missing shots that we needed! We started out filming very tiny detail shots such as the shot where Ally steps on the newspaper article and coming down the stairs etc. Then we got in the car with Bea's mum and drove around for about 15 minutes trying out a number of different angles and close ups on Ally's face in the car. Originally, we were very worried that the camera would be extremely bumpy as we could fit the tripod into the car or move it anywhere so it wasn't at too much of an unnatural angle but we experimented resting the camera on different surfaces and holding it which worked quite well. We got some really good shots such as one from behind of silhouettes of both Ally and her mum and also some very clear close ups of Ally's face.

After we completed this driving sequence, we decided to go down to Brixton Town Hall as the other extras playing the policeman, and lawyer etc. weren't around to do Jasper's driving sequence. We didn't spend long in Brixton as it was very busy around us so it was hard to get good shots without people getting in the way, however we did manage to get a couple of shots that we can use. We then headed back to Clapham and spent about half an hour driving round shooting a similar car sequence for Jasper and the lawyer. We also added in a couple of shot where the policeman escorts Jasper out of the car and we got quite a cool angle of the lawyer and Jasper walking past the camera. After a quick costume change, we filmed Jasper's arrest which was very successful as we filmed it perfectly so that it would be at the height to match Ally watching out the window. We tried it twice, the second time being the best as we zoomed in so it was clear what was happening.

Finally, we filmed the flashback shots which looked really good as we managed to get some really useful silhouettes which made everything look scarier and more threatening. We decided for the flashbacks it would be best to use a handheld camera following Ally, similar to the shot we used in our short film 'The Package', to make it more shaky and panicky.
